Day 13: Killer Migraine

So the last few days haven’t been too great. (I’ve been laxed on blogging and will have to back log some.)

Yesterday was my first shift back on days. The day started off well with a good weigh-in. My eating was also good. The migraine started around 5pm and just got worse.

I made it through though. A little after 7pm I got home and was able to take some Imitrex and by 9pm there was relief. It was short lived as I was up at 3am and not able to sleep again.

Goals:
– Charge my Fitbit
– Get back into my HSA account (locked out due to password)
– Fill out new medical info
– Refill Imitrex
– Eat Well
– Drink More Water

Weigh In: 166

Food:
– Oatmeal
– GF Breakfast Bar

Day -2: The Beginning

To say that I feel horrible will be an understatement. …But I decided to change.

I know the new year is upon us and everybody makes resolutions, but this is much more than a resolution. It’s more of a revolution I need to get my life back in order.  Due to two years of constant night shifts I put on extra weight and The foods I eat you not agree with my body. I don’t eat poorly but it seems that gluten and other processed foods still do not do well with me.

I’ve decided to start a journey of working out and eating a FODMAP or Paleo diet.  I can’t lie this is going to be incredibly hard. My family already eats gluten-free but it work there’s all kinds of temptations. I’m going to have to learn how to eat out and function with other coworkers while eating well.

And there’s a exercise aspect. Over the last two years I’ve suffered from migraines and muscle weakness all to which doctors cannot give me a diagnosis. Recently I started acupuncture that seems to help, so I think I’ll continue with it.  I don’t like to start yoga on a regular basis. From there I plan to start working out on a regular basis as I used to back in 2004.

This is not actually my first journey doing this. Back in 2004 after my second child I realized how much weight I had put on and how it unhealthy I felt. I started with Curves for a year and lost a lot of weight and inches. I then moved on to LA fitness where I stayed for several years working out on a regular basis.  I feel good back then and I like to get back there soon.

i’ve actually been a member of Planet Fitness for over year, but with the midnight shift, stress, and other things in life I only get there handful of times a month.  (Sad)

The last two years have just taken a toll on my body and my mental health and I’m over it!

My overall goal as health and wellness. That entails losing some weight I’m not so much worried about the number I like to be a size 10 or to take off about 25 pounds, which ever comes first. I would also like to be physically strong enough to do CrossFit.
